March 29: Hike up Diamond Head

We drove into Diamond Head Crater (Le'ahi) and hiked to the summit, where there is an old military observation station. The hike is about 1.5 miles round trip to 700 feet. At the end you have to climb a bunch of steps.

Inside the crater, where this picture was taken, it looks like Africa. Very dry and rough.

Mom and Jack. Jack says it's easy.

It was very windy. Gusts to 50 mph. That's Koko Head in the far back-
ground.

The reward: the not-so-famous view from Diamond Head.
